The Centre for Self Directed Learning
A body that promotes, delivers and develops self directed courses of learning at tertiary, secondary and primary level.
The focus for these courses will be an individualized learning framework based on the following principles of self directed learning:
- Learners become increasingly responsible owners and managers of their own learning
- Personalised learning is mediated through a Course Director and supported by a key mentor
- Learning is focused on individual and meaningful interests developed through inquiry learning processes
- Learning is assessed according to mastery and competency
Course Delivery
All CSDL courses will be delivered via a web-based digital learning management system. Those taking courses will be formally registered, given appropriate direction, supported appropriately to undertake their courses, and given due accreditation.
Accreditation Matrix
The Centre for Self Directed Learning will develop an accreditation matrix for each student and keep accurate records of skill developments and courses completed. This matrix may then be used by participants for further study credits and ongoing teaching registration requirements. Participants will also be given individual certification of courses completed.
